EXPLANATION OF WHO CAN REGISTER
FOR THE DC CONGRESSIONAL GOLD MEDAL EVENTS
So that we may adequately accommodate the established priority of (1) our living veterans, their families, (2) our generous and supportive donors, their families and guests (most of whom are veteran-related), and (3) those selected by lottery of next-of-kin of deceased veterans, their participation at all events is affirmed by their receiving a formal notification from the CGM Planning Committee and confirmed by their RSVP via registration on the website. Only those receiving a formal notification are eligible to register to attend the National Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony at Emancipation Hall (11:00AM) –very limited and/or the National CGM Presentation Ceremony (3:00PM) (individual medal presentations at Hotel)—limited to veterans and their families and registered and confirmed next-of-kin and their families.
To reiterate, for the National CGM Presentation Ceremony (3:00PM), only those who have been notified by virtue of being—(1) a living veteran/family, (2) donor/sponsors, (3) or those selected by lottery—are eligible to register and receive confirmation that they may attend and participate in the 3:00pm individual Medal presentation ceremony. We will only present Medals for those notified, registered, and confirmed in the above 3 groups.
The National CGM Dinner Gala Event (6:00pm) at the Crystal Gateway Hotel has available seating for the Gala Dinner in the evening. Thus, all veterans and their families, donors/sponsors and their families, guests, dignitaries, etc. will attend this prestigious dinner.
